1 Month!!!

So both girls are finally down for a nap...at the same time. And I should be napping too, but alas, I seem to have too much going on in my mind to relax and fall asleep, so I thought I'd share some updates and Claire's 1 month pics! :) For those of you who missed my Facebook post this morning, we've been having some rough nights lately. Zoey is working on a new tooth, so her sleeping schedule is all jacked up. She has been getting up at 6 the last few mornings, ugh! And little Claire sleeps super well at the beginning of the night, usually until about 2, then she thinks she needs to eat every hour until 5, then be awake and squeek and grunt and play until 6-6:30. Basically, she falls back to sleep about the time Zoey gets up, so that doesn't work out so well for poor mommy! ;) But they're both so cute, I let them get by with it...ha! Being up so early reminds me how much I love mornings...but they do tend to be a little more enjoyable after more than just 3 consecutive hours of sleep... :P Needless to say, I took my coffee caffeinated this morning instead of the usual decaf...

We enjoyed our long Labor Day weekend up at Ron and Luella's. They bought the girls a genuine red Radio Flyer wagon! Zoey was thrilled...she enjoyed several hours of pulling it around and getting pulled around in it over the course of the weekend. :)

 

She couldn't even wait to get it put together to give it a try... :)

 

Claire preferred the bouncy seat, she wasn't a fan of the wagon...

 

 

Zoey has a couple new favorite toys. One is a toy ukulele from Uncle Brad and Aunt Carrie. Claire has gotten "serenaded" a few times. :)



 

She also can't get enough of the vintage Fisher Price farm set Marty scored off of eBay. :) When you ask her if she wants to play with the farm set, she starts stomping and dancing around. She can also tell you what a cow, dog, rooster and horsey say. :)

 



 

Her other favorite thing to do is hold baby sister! She loves loving on her, SO adorable! :)

 Here are some of Claire's 1 month pics. Can hardly believe it's been a whole month already! :P Her 1-month check-up was yesterday, she is now about 9.5 pounds and 21 inches long...about 2.5 pounds and 4 inches bigger than she was a month ago! No wonder she's been eating like a pig lately...she's a growing girl!!! ;)

You'll have to turn sideways to see this one...for the life of me I can't figure out why it uploaded this way when I clearly have it saved vertically. Oh well, she's cute either direction. :)

 

The photo shoot didn't last long, as she was apparently exhausted from all the eating, pooping and napping she'd been doing all day long... ;)

 

I know this is the second time I've said "poor mommy" in this post, but...I have yet another child who looks nothing like me and is the spitting image of her daddy, poor mommy!!! Not that I really mind, I happen to think he looks pretty good, so I'll gladly take kiddos who look like him. ;) But maybe someday I'll have a baby who looks like me for a change...Luella pulled a baby picture of Marty out and Claire looks JUST like him! :)

 

So many baby girls lately!!! Congrats to Joe and Amanda Braund on little Olivia's arrival a couple days ago! And Darron and Angela's deBoer's little girl will be along shortly...any time AFTER the 12th, we're told! ;) Altho' technically she isn't due til October 3rd. But I, along with her parents and other relatives, can't WAIT for her arrival! :)

 

Next Tuesday Mom is coming to pick me up and take me back to Springfield so the girls and I can get to full-time Clever! Looking forward to it! Marty will join us for the weekend. And before any of you assume I'm crazy for taking both girls by myself, both grandmas will be there, so I'll have lots of very willing and capable help! ;)

Hope you all are enjoying your last days of summer!!! I for one am excited to welcome fall and the cooler weather that will hopefully arrive with it! :) Time for me to sign-out as both girls are now awake and I can definitely smell that at least one of them has a dirty diaper...ha! ;)
