So yes, it's definitely Monday in the Faber household! What an interesting day...
For those of you who have ever asked a stay-at-home Mom what she does all day (and lived to tell about it) here's a little run-down of my day to clue you in...and a little helpful advice: don't EVER ask that question!!!
The day started off rather well...both kiddos let me sleep in til almost 8am, woohoo! :) Claire slept for another hour or so while I got Zoey and I some breakfast. Claire woke up and I didn't have time to finish my coffee, so I brought it down to the living room with me while I fed her...mistake #1. Despite being told numerous times, Zoey cannot keep her hands off of things on our end tables...the iPad, remote control, cell phone, drinks, snacks, magazines, Bibles, etc...are all she can think about, even with a living room strewn with toys and books. So of course, she grabs for my coffee and spills it all over the floor. This is now the third coffee stain on our light blue living room carpet...all 3 stains caused by Zoey...you'd think I would have learned my lesson by now, but apparently not! ha! :P So I blotted and scrubbed, but alas...this remained:
Zoey was very distressed after all that, so I sat her on the couch next to me and let her play a few toddler games on my iPad while Claire napped in her swing...mistake #2. She is SO obsessed with that thing, it's slightly ridiculous. Any time I have it open, she will race over from wherever she's been and crawl all over me, jabbing her little fingers at everything. :) She has to be under constant supervision while she plays it because she knows how to do things on it that I don't even know how to do...like delete everything. So I watched her play it while I ate some lunch. An hour or so later, the battery is running low so I take it away from her. A fit is thrown. She jumps off the couch and proceeds to scream and cry...while grabbing at her......diaper area. I wasn't sure if that was just part of her tantrum or what, but after more screaming and grabbing, I checked her pants. She'd pooped...probably right before she started playing with the iPad an hour before. She'd been so engrossed in the iPad she didn't let me know she had dirty pants...and I couldn't smell it for some odd reason. Usually there's no mistaking she has a dirty diaper. :P She had major, flaming diaper rash...poor thing, I felt awful!!!!!! So I got her cleaned up and put some coconut oil on her...it's a miracle worker, I tell ya! With all the screaming, Claire had woken up...as I lift her out of the swing, I can hear telltale signs that she too is going to have a dirty diaper very soon. So I take her up to her room and proceed to change her diaper in her crib on a changing pad...mistake #3. I should have changed her on the changing pad on the FLOOR! I get the diaper off, get her cleaned up and before I can get another one under her, she poops some more...like liquid, projectile poop. And did it stay on the changing pad? Of course not! It squirted all over her crib, and then settled in a little puddle under her. And then she peed. I stepped back, kinda threw my hands up in the air and screamed a little...which Zoey found hilarious. So we both stood there laughing while poor Claire laid covered in poo and pee, crying...at which point I decided both kiddos just needed a bath!!!!! I have never given both kiddos a bath at the same time by myself before...just too big of an undertaking. But I managed! Yes, I know you're not supposed to put the infant tub in a bathtub full of water, but I did it anyway. Both kiddos are still alive, imagine that. :P Both got scrubbed, rinsed, dried, lotioned, and diaper rash creamed up! We then proceeded to the living room where I collapsed onto the couch...and both kiddos promptly fell asleep. Whew!!!!!!!!
So what do I do all day?!??! Let me give you a rundown...I have fed both Zoey and myself both 2 meals. I have changed 8 wet diapers and 6 poopy ones...I have given 2 baths...and nursed Claire 6 times. I did not get the dishes done like I had planned...and I have not gotten any laundry done either. Altho' I will obviously have to as the crib is in no shape to be slept in. :P So that's my 8am-5pm day, and I don't get to quit at 5 either... :P All in a day's work...yes, I am a supermom! ;)

Three Weeks!!!
So blog.com has been giving me fits for a while now, so here's hoping blogspot will be a bit easier for everyone! I have lots of pics and updates to share, so here goes!
We enjoyed a fun weekend last weekend in Springfield...got to see my parent's new house for the first time since they moved into it! We got to see Brad, Kalee and Logan too, as well as Nana and Papa and Ron and Luella. We enjoyed eating WAY too much food at Lambert's Saturday for lunch, and otherwise just hung out at the house. The kids really enjoyed playing on their huge deck in the backyard! Unfortunately, Brad, Kalee, Marty and I all realized if we ever want to get any sleep, we'd better not leave home for an overnight trip for the next...oh, 5 years or so. :P It was like living in the twilight zone...Marty and I both just started laughing hysterically at one point around 4am when both of our kiddos were wide awake. Zoey was playing and giggling away on the floor, and Claire was just looking around all bright-eyed. What else can you do but laugh, I guess.
We've had a bit of a rough go of it the last few days...Zoey has been working on a couple teeth for a week or so now, so she's been a bit cranky. Not sleeping well, runny/congested nose...but Sunday Marty and Claire started getting all congested and sneezy, and I got a sore throat. Marty stayed home from work Monday and we all 4 laid around all day...and each took a couple naps! That seemed to do the trick as we're all feeling much better now! Not sure if it was colds or allergies, but it certainly was no fun all feeling yucky at the same time! I'm sure it won't be the last time tho'...
The good thing about it was I was able to put off being home by myself with both kiddos for one more day since Marty stayed home Monday! Not sure why I was dreading it so much, probably mostly because I knew I'd miss having adult company around...it'd been over 2 weeks since Claire had been born and ever since then I'd had all kinds of ppl around to converse with and help me out. But I have so far survived my first 2 days just fine! :) I'm super blessed with two very chill girls...Claire enjoys napping in her swing and laying on her playmat, and Zoey is perfectly able to entertain herself for quite a while...all she needs is a big stack of books! So I've been able to relax and have some cuddle time with the kiddos, AND get a few things done around the house! Feels good to be active and productive again, even if I'm not 100% fully functional yet. Sure will be easier once I'm cleared to lift again and can pick Zoey up! Until then, I'm pretty much stuck in the house during the day as I can't lift Zoey into her carseat, or lift Claire's carseat into the car. :( We've gone on a couple walks around the cul-de-sac...Claire really enjoys being wrapped in the Moby. But unfortunately this week it's warmed up quite a bit again so it's not quite as enjoyable wearing that thing when it's 95 degrees out. Looking forward to fall's cooler weather! :) Here's a pic of the 3 of us heading out for a walk:

Zoey seems to enjoy being a big sister more and more. She refused to hold Claire for the longest time, but now she can't get enough of it! She reaches her little arms out for her, it's SO sweet! I managed to snap a few pics of them yesterday before Zoey poked at Claire one too many times and made her mad.
Here's a few pics I took today of Claire at 3 weeks old! Can't believe it's been 3 weeks already...
A little love from big sister
More big sister love... :)
Zoey sure keeps me busy...she always gets into EVERYTHING and has to drag it all out in the middle of the room...right in my way, of course. :) She had fun in the tupperware cabinet the other day while I was getting us some lunch.
At least it kept her busy and was relatively harmless. Not sure if her mischevious streak is her way of trying to get my attention now that it's divided or what, but...sometimes it makes me want to pull my hair out and other times it cracks me up. :) Yesterday she gave her bear a little ride in Claire's swing...was so cute to watch her put him in there and then try and push the right buttons. Teddy bear got a swing AND music! :)
And no, I generally don't let my child run around in just her diaper...she had decided to take her pants off right before I took this picture. :P
And one last thing, just for fun...another comparison of how much our girls look alike as infants:
Zoey
Claire
